Someone saw the part of you that everyone else walked past.
I thought I came here looking for a road. But Uganda found me.
This song is about a door that opened, and a family who let me walk through it without asking what I was carrying or where my wounds had been. They didn't try to change me. They gave me room. They gave me time. And somewhere in there they stopped calling me a guest.
Not born from the same blood — but brothers just the same.

They had a house of stories A legacy held with grace But never made me feel Like a stranger in their place
They saw beyond the damage Beyond what I had lost They saw the man still standing Not only what it cost
Before I found my strength again Before I knew which way to go You saw something inside of me I could no longer see alone
You saw me — before I saw myself You gave me room — before I asked for help You opened doors and showed me where to stand You called me family and took me by the hand Not born from the same blood, but brothers just the same Uganda gave me purpose and gave me back my name You saw me — and I came alive again
You did not try to change me You gave me time to heal You let me find the pieces And learn what still was real

Two partners stood beside me With honesty and trust Not only when we prosper But when the road was rough
Some brothers share a childhood Some brothers share a name And some are made through loyalty Through truth, respect and pain
They spoke of old blood Of stories handed down But what made them noble Was how they held their ground
No crown could make a family No title makes it true It is who stays beside you And what they build with you
Now I can see the future In every life we raise Generations growing From the work we start today
